內容摘要
    傳統語言學把翻譯看作是對不同語言符號之間的解釋或語言符號之間的轉換，并且強調等值的重要性。而在翻譯實踐中，僅僅從符號本身出發尋求語言之間的轉換形式，往往很難達到意義上的對等，甚至可能導致交際的失敗。本文認為，翻譯研究應當首先把翻譯看作跨文化交際行為而不是1種簡單的兩種語言之間的轉換行為。
    把翻譯當作跨文化語言交際的媒體來研究，許多因素在翻譯實踐中都應當被考慮。本文只討論其中最易造成翻譯困難和交際障礙的因素——文化因素。在跨文化翻譯過程中，不同文化在各自語言中的積淀會明顯地顯現出來，相互對立，使譯文無法再現原文與源語文化的那種特定關系，這便是翻譯的文化因素。由于詞語是語言中最積極、最活躍的組成部分，所以本文集中討論在詞匯層面上文化因素給翻譯帶來的困難。本文保證有效的跨文化交際和促進各國的文化交流的原則，本文提出了幾種解決翻譯中文化因素的方法。

Abstract
     
Translation, a process of dealing with the transference of different languages and cultures, can be viewed as a process of intercultural communication. One of the purposes of language is to communicate, so translating from one language to another is actually to help achieve effective communication between members of different languages. This thesis attempts to discuss translation from the angle of intercultural communication.
In the process of intercultural communication, many factors should be taken into consideration. But as far as translation is concerned, the factors include the intention of the source-language text , the purpose of translation ,the type of the text , the type of the intended reader in the target-language and cultural elements, etc.. Among these, the cultural element seems to be the one that is most likely to cause problems. This thesis focuses on the impact of cultural elements on translation on the lexical level .Cultural factors involving translation, the communication problems caused by cultural factors will be discussed through relative examples .Finally, the thesis provides some translation strategies that can hopefully solve problems encountered so as to achieve successful communication between two different cultures.
