　　首先，我們需要知道什么才是句子插入題。句子插入題在形式上和其他題型有較大不同，因此，從題型上來看，題干中會給出和文章相關的一句話，這句話也是需要考生們出入到文章恰當位置的句子。同時，文章中會給出帶有四個黑色方塊的段落，這四個黑色方塊就是句子需要插入的地方。例如：

　　Look at the four squares [▋] that indicate where the following sentence could beadded to the passage. Where would thesentence best fit?

　　This process can take a few hours to several days.

　　A conspicuous sign indicating the presence of white-tailed deer in a woodlot isa buck rub. ▋ A male deer makes a buck rub by striping the bark (outer layer) ofa small tree with its antlers. ▋When completed, the buck rub isanobviousvisual signal to us and presumable to other deer in the area. ▋A rub is usuallylocated at the shoulder height of a deer (onemeter or less above the ground) ona smooth-barked, small-diameter (16-25millimeters) tree. ▋The smooth bark ofsmall red maples makes this species ideal for buck rubs in the forests of themid-eastern United States.

　　其次，做題之前，我們需要明白句子插入題的考察點，這能更好的幫助我們處理該類問題。ETS的官方指南里指出句子插入題主要考察句子間的邏輯語義關系。那么，句子的邏輯語義關系都靠什么來表現呢?

　　一、代詞。

　　例如：A community program called “One on One” helps elementary studentswho’ve fallen behind. Youeducationmajorsmight beinterested in it.

　　該句中的it代指前一句中的單數名詞 “program”。

　　二、代詞+ 名詞。

　　正如上例中需要插入的句子中的“thisprocess”一定指代文章中的某個過程，這時我們只需要找出文章中表示過程的句子并把該句插入其后就可以了。我們可以看出本段第二句表示一個過程，因此，該句插入第二個黑色方塊處就可以了。

　　三、重復話題詞或同義近義改寫。

　　上下句的銜接也可以通過重復話題詞實現，或者是對該話題詞進行相關改寫。例如：

　　Before choosing a public or private school for their children, parents shouldtake into account the cost. The price of a private school is usually much higherthan that of a public school.

　　四、通過邏輯連詞或副詞來體現句間關系。

　　例如，時間關系、因果關系、轉折關系、解釋關系等等。
