　　“與其說…不如說…”“主要是…其次…”

　　人們之所以關注歷史研究的方法論，(主要是因為史學界內部意見不一，其次是因為外界并不認為歷史是一門學問/與其說是因為外部對于歷史作為一門只是學科有效性的質疑，還不如說是因為歷史學家自己內部的爭論)。

　　more than 1、more A than B

　　“與其說是B，不如說是A”

　　He is more a teacher than a writer.

　　與其說他是作家，不如說他是教師。

　　He is more a close friend than a boyfriend to me.

　　他與其說是我的男朋友不如說是我的好朋友。

　　more than句型

　　A more than+數詞，表示“多于.. 以上”的意思。

　　We have been close friends for more than 20 years.

　　我們已經作了20多年的好朋友了。

　　The role of natural selection in evolution was formulated only a little more than a hundred years ago,and the selective role of the environment in shaping and maintaining the behavior of the individual is onlybeginning to be recognized and studied.

　　自然選擇在(進化/演化)中的作用僅在一百多年前才得以(闡明/表述/解釋/論證/揭示)，而環境在(塑造/形成/早就)和(保持/維護)個體行為時的選擇作用則剛剛開始被(認識/承認/意識到/認可)和研究。

　　B more than+名詞或是動詞，表示“不知是，不僅僅”的意思。

　　He is more than a friend to her. 他對她不只是朋友。可能還有更多。

　　They may teach very well， and more than earntheir salaries, but most of them make little or no independent reflections onhuman problems which involve moral judgment.

　　他們可能教的很好，而且也不僅僅是為了賺錢，但是他們中的大多數對于涉及道德問題的人類問題很少或是沒有進行獨立的思考。

　　more than+形容詞、副詞或是分詞，表示“極其，非常”的意思。

　　My teacher is more than strict with me.

　　我老師對我極其嚴格。

　　My parents are more than kind to me.

　　我爸媽對我非常好。

　　I can call you anything but boyfriend.

　　我根本不會稱你為我的男朋友。

　　You are nothing but my one of my friends，leave mealone.

　　你只不過是我的一個朋友而已，不要管我。
