準備上班（06:05 AM）
Awakening from Sleep
Like any other morning, a soft instrumental lounge beat wakes me around 6:05 a.m.
Although half asleep, I force myself to jump out of bed and try to awaken from sleep.
I spend less than 20 minutes on a quick make-up, and another 20 minutes for hair styling.
While worrying about what to wear, the morning news is about to give the weather forecast for today. I suddenly realize it’s already 7:00 a.m.!
Since I’m already late, what would be the fastest way to get to work when I’m in such a rush?
Can I make it by 8 a.m.? Would it be better to make use of public transportation?
However, it will take more than an hour and a half to transfer from the bus to the subway and from subway line 3 to line 2.
Well, I prefer the control of driving myself.
Yesterday, a car accident caused the traffic jam on Jayuro.
Let’s hope it’s better this morning!
TRANS
跟往常一樣，6點5分左右我隨著優美的音樂鬧鈴起床。
雖然還沒有完全睡醒，但我強迫自己下床，努力把自己從夢鄉里拽出來。
不到20 分鐘我已經結束了化妝，整理頭發還需要20 分鐘。
正在考慮要穿什么時，電視上已經開始播放天氣預報了。我突然意識到已經7 點了！
這么晚了，最快捷的交通手段是什么呢？
8 點能到嗎？坐公交車？
但是要從公交車站到地鐵站，坐3 號線再倒2 號線的話，最少需要1 個半小時。
還是開車上班吧。昨天自由路發生了交通事故，所以導致了交通堵塞。
希望今天路況好點！
EXPRESSION
1. I like your outfit and hairdo!
你的衣服和發型真好看！
A: How do I look?
B: You look stunning. I like your outfit and hairdo!
2. I am wearing too much makeup.
我今天化的妝太濃了。
A: Don’t you think I am wearing too much makeup?
B: Well, it’s a little too much for daily makeup, but it
would be great for a night out or some other special occasion.
3. I can make better use of commuting hours.
我可以利用上下班的時間。
A: Why don’t you drive to work?
B: I prefer using public transportation.
I can make better use of commuting hours by reading books on the bus or train.
4. I am stuck on the road.
我被堵在路上了。
A: You live 5 minutes away but, why are you so late?
B: I was stuck on the road. The traffic was just too terrible!
REAL TALK
Why are you spending such a long time choosing what to wear?
你干嗎花那么多時間挑衣服？
Well, I have an important client meeting this evening. What should I wear?
今晚要見重要的客戶，我該穿什么呢？
Of course, you should wear something formal.
當然是要穿正裝了。
Oh well, thanks for your tip! How about this? Do you think this goes well with my new shoes?
謝謝你的建議。這個怎么樣？配我的新鞋嗎?
It looks fine. But it’s already past 7 a.m. You had better hurry.
不錯。不過現在已經7點多了，你最好快點。
