How to improve our English
Hello everyone. Today, I’d like to talk about“How to improve our English”. To be honest, I’m really happy to stand here and say something about learning English, even if I’m only a beginner of English.
As everybody knows. English is an intern- ational language. What’s more China has ente- red the WTO. Therefore it’s necessary for us to learn it.But“how can I improve my English” you may ask. Well, I have some useful tips that I’d like to share with you.
Firstly, make sure that you pay enough atte- ntion to your pronunciation and intonation. Otherwise, you might make yourself a laughing stock. For example,“Can I use your bike?”you say,“Can I use your back?”“Pass me the case, please”.you say,“pass me the kiss, please” Obviously, here you mispronounced the two words “bike”and “case”.That will certainly cause misunderstanding. Besides, tones of different voice can also mean difference. For instance,“London bridge is falling down, fall- ing down, my fair Lady”,“London bridge is falling down!”you are excited, again“London bridge is falling down, falling down, my fair Lady”,“London bridge is falling down”you are so sad, right?
Secondly, practice makes perfect. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes when you practise speaking English. On one hand, you will learn from them, On the other hand, no one can avoid making mistakes, so don’t be shy, try to be thic- kskinned and speak up !
Finally, in order to improve our English, we need to be patient , Anyway, learning English takes time, so you must have a strong will and enough patience, Recember“Rome was not built in a day !”

大家好!今天我演講的題目是：如何提高我們的英文。說(shuō)真的，我非常高興在這里說(shuō)一說(shuō)關(guān)于學(xué)英語(yǔ)的事情，盡管我只是英語(yǔ)的初學(xué)者。
大家都知道，英語(yǔ)是一門國(guó)際性的語(yǔ)言，尤其是中國(guó)已加入了WTO，學(xué)英語(yǔ)對(duì)我們來(lái)說(shuō)是格外必要的。但是你可能會(huì)問(wèn)：“如何才能提高我們的英語(yǔ)呢?”那好，接下來(lái)我便給大家說(shuō)一說(shuō)提高英語(yǔ)的捷徑。
首先，你應(yīng)確信你已在發(fā)音技巧和語(yǔ)音方面下了很多功夫。否則，你將會(huì)鬧出很多笑話。例如“我可以借一下你的自行車嗎?”而你說(shuō)成“我可以借一下你的后背嗎?”“請(qǐng)遞給我那個(gè)箱子”而由于你的錯(cuò)誤發(fā)音，竟說(shuō)成“請(qǐng)給我一個(gè)吻吧。”很顯然，在這兩個(gè)句子中你讀錯(cuò)了“自行車”和“盒子”這兩個(gè)詞，而對(duì)方也就自然誤解了你的意思。另外，語(yǔ)調(diào)的不同也可表達(dá)著不同的感情，舉個(gè)例子：倫敦橋塌了!倫敦橋塌了!我的夫人!(聲音高昂，表示高興)倫敦橋塌了!倫敦橋塌了!我的.夫人!(聲音低沉，表示悲傷)
其次，大家都知道：熟能生巧。當(dāng)你在說(shuō)英語(yǔ)時(shí)不要怕犯錯(cuò)誤。一方面，沒(méi)有人會(huì)不犯錯(cuò)誤的。另一方面你可以從錯(cuò)誤中總結(jié)教訓(xùn)，所以千萬(wàn)不要害羞，臉皮厚一點(diǎn)地大聲說(shuō)出來(lái)!
最后，為了能夠達(dá)到成功的頂峰，我們必須要有耐心。無(wú)論怎么說(shuō)，學(xué)英語(yǔ)總是要花費(fèi)時(shí)間的，所以你必須要有足夠的勇氣和一顆“永不言敗”的心。要牢牢地記住這句名言“羅馬不是一天造成的!”
