　　農業是中國的重要產業。中國的農業產居世界首位，主要出產大米、小麥、土豆、花生、茶葉和棉花。盡管中國的可耕地(arable land)僅占世界的10%,但是中國卻為世界上20%的人口提供糧食。由于中國是發展中國家且可耕地嚴重匱乏，中國的農業一直是勞動密集型(labor-intensive)。中國政府密切關注農業，加大投資力度，積極開展灌溉和水資源保護，以提髙農業生產的現代化水平，使得中國各類農產品的產品迅速增加。然而，由于人口眾多，人均農產品產量很低。

　　端午節(農歷五月初五)是中國古老的傳統節日，始于春秋戰國時期，至今已有2000多年歷史。通常在陽歷的六月份。

　　粽子tsung-tse/rice dumplings：Glutinous rice(糯米) filled with meat, nuts or bean paste(豆醬) and wrapped in bamboo leaves. The custom of eating tsung-tse is also popular in North and South Korea, Japan and Southeast Asian nations。
